I'm from Alabama and have been in California since 2017. I have not been impressed with any of the food anywhere, until I went to Rays. Everything was delicious! Now I want to move to Sacramento just because I finally found good food. It's been a hard journey, but I finally found very flavorful food like they cook in the south. I highly recommend Rays!

My first time at Ray's didn't disappoint. I had a combination of basa and jumbo prawns with sides of red beans with rice and fried okra. Everything was fresh, well seasoned and very reasonably priced! I'll definitely be back.

Mya had the best customer service and was very understandable with all questions asked. She was Truly Amazing. We had the three way with bone in catfish, chicken wings, catfish filets, fried okra, cornbread and not pictured collard greens. They were in a separate container. Desert we had regular and 7up pound cake. The food was Amazing and the customer service was just as Great!!!

First time at Rays and it was so good. Food is delicious, service is great and the cake is to die for. I have a sweet tooth so their cakes caught my attention immediately. I bought a slice of the chocolate cake with Oreo frosting and every bite was a piece of heaven. I will go back for more.

Good halal fish and chicken. My son had the chicken and I had the snapper. The snapper was very good and the fries were perfect. I like the thousand island type of sauce on my fish it was tasty. I also had the sweet potato cake. The icing was very good but the cake needed more of the sweet potato taste but it was still yummy. I also had the tropical punch Koolaid and it was good. I would have put more sugar but I have a sweet tooth and most people say I put too much sugar, lol. I want to go back and try the shrimp poboy and the gumbo! See ya'll soon!

While staying in a hotel in the area, I used my handy Yelp app feature to find Ray's. It is .7 miles from my hotel. Quick service. Clean (but small, seats 15-ish) dining/order area. Well-lit parking lot. I highly recommend the Akakan Cod. Tender fish cooked up crunchy. Flaky white meat. I walked in at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night, ordered to-go, and was on my way within 15 minutes. If it's been around since '74... there's probably a reason.

Overall: 4.5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Customer Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Price: 5/5 The fried snapper, fried chicken, fried shrimp, and french fries Were all fire! Even the Kool-Aid was really good, often times Kool-Aid served at restaurants is just severely over sweetened. Not this one. The fried snapper is perfect. The chicken and shrimp really good, the onion rings and the fries really good. I think in today's world of inflation. The prices here are very reasonable, especially with the amount of food you get. $16.99 for the two-way combo, which is two pieces of fish, two chicken thighs and french fries. It's a lot of food and it's good. This has got to be the best fried chicken and fish spot in Sacramento. I will definitely be coming back regularly
